Venetie Man Pleads Down To Manslaughter In Alleged Murder Of Brother
The Venetie man accused of murdering his own brother took a plea deal today in Fairbanks Superior Court. 21-year-old Chance Erick was originally charged with Second Degree Murder but struck a deal with the State, pleading Guilty to Manslaughter. According to reports, Chance is accused of "clubbing" his 36-year-old brother, Earl Erick Jr. in the head with what Troopers described as a large stick. Earl was found unconscious from brain injuries inside his home; he later died at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Chance allegedly admitted to clubbing his brother in the head, thereby causing his death.
