'Politicians With Power Tools' Pit Mayors Against Each Other In Ice Carving Competition
Christmas in Ice held their annual 'Politicians With Power Tools' event over the weekend, where local mayors and other politicians visit North Pole to carve a sculpture in a competition for charity.
Residents can vote for their favorite creation with a donation, and all proceeds go to the winning politician's chosen charity.
This year, Fairbanks Mayor, Jim Matherly, along with North Pole Mayor, Bryce Ward, and Fairbanks North Star Borough Mayor, Karl Kassel, participated in the event.
Voting will continue throughout the week and a winner will be announced on Saturday.
North Pole mayor, Bryce Ward says that visiting Christmas in Ice is a great way to experience new activities, while also giving back to the community.
