Cardinals to decide conclave start date on Friday: Vatican

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Cardinals holding preliminary meetings at the Vatican will vote later on Friday on when to start a conclave to elect a successor to Pope Benedict, the Vatican said.
Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said a decision was expected for after 7 p.m. (1800 GMT/1 PM ET).
