Amy Chaussé loves getting the scoop at Channel 13, especially when it's rocky road or butter pecan. A lifelong Fairbanksan, Amy started making a name for herself early on, being named a Hunter Elementary School's Legion of Honor student in the sixth grade. She was elected student council president of Ryan Middle School after a rousing speech impersonating then-principal John Norman and sporting a Tom Selleck-style mustache. Since her junior year at Lathrop high school she has been dreaming in Spanish having been chosen to spend a year in Argentina as a foreign exchange student. A recent graduate of University of Alaska's School of Journalism, Amy's favorite class assignment was interviewing the ghost of Chris McCandless in the bus where his body was found on Stampede Trail.
To relax, Amy cranks up a Bobbie Gentry tune on her jukebox which happens to glow blue like Elvis's suede shoes. She loves staring at the stars, rescuing bugs, talking to her plants, looking for dinosaur bones, and turning over stones to see what she can find. You may find her dancing with the stars at the fair or confuse her with Patsy Cline as she belts out "Crazy" at the local karaoke event.
If there's news to know, a story to learn or something hiding under a rock, Amy will have the report on Channel 13.
